The review
Shadow Works have used a new
chassis in terms of engineering design and created
the next generation of aesthetic drivers that
use an ultra low resonance chassis. Dynamic in
design, manufactured using the highest quality
material producing a visually pleasant yet durable
woofer.
True one piece cast chassis which has none of
the associated flaws with conventional basket
designs such as magnetic field distortion which
is common with steel chassis; frequency resonance
and thermal rejection. Ultra stiff, heat sinking
and vent cooling, non magnetic chassis, low reflection
multi leg design which have distinct advantages
over normal mass market chassis. Dual AVS coil
mated to a Ultra stiff 7005 shallow profile floating
cone which suffers very low time-smearing, Cone
break up and ringing associated with aluminium
cones are reduced with an aesthetic red PPG formula
doping on one side only for minimal MMS increase.
A high power magnetic system is employed to drive
maximum sensitivity from this design. It also
has a perfect placement inside the chassis for
a perfect flux pattern around the voice coil.
within 0.1mm most average magnets sit within 0.5mm
to 2.0mm off centred from the pole yoke. A composite
chlorobutyl surround with a profiled aluminium
cone joint with a integrated gasket design specifically
for inversion.
The Judge Reds surround is profiled
similar to the infamous Audiophile 8545. Judge
Red has been designed to be robust, having a larger
surround surface area bonded to the chassis allows
for maximum strength with endurance and is a true
inverted high pressure gasket for inversion.
This design has speed, accuracy and quality that
other subwoofer cannot match in its league. The
transience response is amongst the fastest of
any 12 inch aluminium cone design. High damping
factors amplifiers are required for the best possible
sound quality.
This has a very dry desert bass quality that is
extremely tight and polished, it lets you feel
the upper bass notes with equal venom as the red
infra range of music. If you like to get slapped
with bass, this will be the one for you, the Judge
Red, has aesthetics and character others can not
match.

The Latin for 'red' is ruber, rufus; and red's
stone naturally is the ruby, the Philosopher's
Stone: antidote to poison, preserver from plague,
banisher of grief, diverter of evil thoughts.
Apart from its other fiery and bloody connections,
red is the colour associated with Magic, 'otherness',
the 'underground', insurrection, and prostitution.
